Bio

Karen’s deepest dream is for us to become more aware that our children are our greatest teachers, especially when they are provided with tools to remain connected to their innate courage and kindness.

For over twenty years Karen has worked as an educator, specializing in the areas of mindfulness, special education, and early literacy. While in the role of Mental Health and Well-being Consultant, over 12,000 students accessed a Social-Emotional Program she created for children and youth in Grades One through Eight. As a parent coach, Karen facilitated a course she co-created for parents attending an online Summit on Teen Well-being.

Most recently, Karen published the first in a series of  children’s books and she is currently teaching “Mental Health in the Classroom” at a university for teacher candidates.

I remember so vividly the conversation you and your younger son modeled together in one of our classes. I was so inspired by it yet had so many questions! That seed was planted at just the right time though… It’s been a slow awakening but in my efforts to improve my communication skills I was better primed in my own personal growth to take on that next level of communication with my kids that you introduced in class.
